My most important tip
Set a budget. It might overshoot, but at least not as much as an impulsive/unprepared wedding will cost. Jenn (married to Tabs) 03.dec.2005

Our thickest ever! That’s what this year’s edition of The W@W Wedding Primer is. Our cover makeover is part of the redesign we’re doing in all WeddingsAtWork.com (W@W) for our 10th anniversary next year.

Formally stepping on board as our associate editor is Clarice Talavera-Aviñante. You may have noticed us acknowledging her tireless efforts in our previous editions. Her title doesn’t come with a paycheck and she does it for the love of W@W. Clarice is actually a former W@Wie and currently heads “An Event to Remember” coordinating team which has been voted one of the Top 10 in two previous W@Wie Awards. While we all live and breathe weddings, the two of us only get to experience them on a regular basis in front of computer monitors; while Clarice is out there in the ‘field’ hands on. Her familiarity with the W@W and her professional experience lends practical applications in our articles by knowing what actually works and what only sounds good on paper.

It’s also for that same reason why we constantly seek contributions from credible wedding suppliers to write articles for us with focused topics on their line of expertise. In memory of our friend, Paulo Clemente, we are again running the reception article he wrote for the Primer. The familiar snippets called ‘W@Wie Quotes’ containing useful advise from the brides themselves also serve as bumpers that breaks the monotony in each page. We apply some science in these things, you know. ;)

Because suppliers who advertise with us, we can afford to give handbooks with a P100 price tag, free during wedding fairs. Distributing our titles timely and directly to their intended market is our way of giving back to them. We do sell limited copies to reach out to those who don’t or can’t go to bridal events. Plans are underway for our titles to be readily even to Filipinos abroad.

In the fast-paced internet world, a decade is like an eternity that’s why we’re mighty proud that W@W is marching towards its ‘ten-ten-te-ten’ years of being part of every Filipino soon-to-wed’s big day. We have lots to thank for (shoutouts to Raquel & Aimee for helping us proofread!), and though the support comes from various people and entities around us, we know all these blessings stem from One Ultimate Source.

Salamat po!
