from article: “From bridal blues to wedding bliss: Local video serves as virtual wedding planner”
by: Lynda C. Corpuz, The Manila Times (10.28.2004)

You want it to be lovely, captivating and perfect. But your dream wedding, however wonderful it appears on the imagination, would certainly entail tedious planning. The crucial part of organizing each detail actually falls on the hands of professional wedding planners. But for busy, tight-budgeted couples who can’t afford such a service, the answer may be in this new locally-released wedding planner video.

Viva Entertainment’s latest self-help video titled “Plan Your Dream Wedding,” is a virtual substitute to the real wedding organizer. It was designed to give professional planner services, as it gives must-do wedding pointers and suggestions from the country’s wedding experts, from planners to restaurateurs, florists to caterers. For fashion advice, seasoned couturiers Rhet Eala, Rajo Laurel and Rene Salud share their thoughts on the best gown styles for the season.

The video also gives inputs on choosing your wedding date; determining the number of guests; picking the color motif; and deciding on the reception and venue. There are also tips on choosing your gown, bouquet, ring and cake, plus the perfect place to spend your honeymoon. Testimonials from once and would-be brides, and a bonus directory of wedding suppliers are also included.

Hosting the video is TV personality Christine Bersola-Babao. Her wedding last December 2003 with news anchor Julius Babao is well remembered for its elegance and romantic mood. It was because the lady host was hands-on in her wedding preparations.

To make the video truly helpful to the brides-to-be, Tintin volunteered her actual wedding photos, video footage, invitation and the clear book she used while she was in the middle of planning her big day.

Her personal touches on the video are evident in her interviews with Salud, who made her gown, and Penk Ching, who baked the couple’s wedding cake. The bridal limousine that they used is also on record. “Plan Your Dream Wedding” was shot in Silangan Gardens, where the Babao couple’s reception took place.

Tintin gives more tips to make your wedding preparations a breeze.

. Know what you want. Be realistic with your goals. Set a budget and stick to it. Know your body type to rightfully choose your gown design. Do not wear something just because it is the trend. Choose a gown you are comfortable and confident to wear.

The seating plan is hardly ever followed. Also, RSVP is not taken seriously here in the Philippines. Christine says only 30 percent of those she invited confirmed their attendance. Find a better strategy.

Bridal Registry is always a big help. Guests would know exactly what gifts you prefer.

Smile even if you’re anxious, scared or unsure. As they say, a woman is always the most radiant on her wedding day.

Remember that you are planning your very own wedding. You and your partner’s decision should reign above everyone else’s.

The video is now available for P199 on VCD and P299 on DVD.
