Veluz got her 'W@Wie'!

The 2005 W@Wie Awards, held last November 25 at Villa Immaculada in Intramuros, awarded the Top 10 Wedding Suppliers as voted by the W@Wies. Veluz Reyes brought home the 'W@Wie' by being named the 2005 W@W Supplier of the Year. Veluz is a wedding gown designer who gained prominence in the W@W community late last year with her intricate designs and perfect fit. According to her, "There really is no magic involve, it takes a lot of preparation, effort and skill to achieve the best fit. And if it doesn't (a rarity today, thankfully!) I just do it all over again."

Making the Top 5 Suppliers with Veluz are: Threelogy (videography), Mimi Abesamis & Karl De Leon (photography), John Mateos Ong (photography), and Printed Matter (invites/graphic design).

Completing the Top 10 line-up are: Hizon's Catering, Madge Lejano (make-up), Dino Lara Photography, Josiah's Catering and SugarBox (cake design).

Congratulations to this year's winners!

Weddings rock the Webbies!

While The W@Wie Awards was ongoing in Intramuros, the Webby Awards was simultaneously being held at the Meralco Theater. W@W got the Webbies for the People's Choice Award for the Home & Living Category but, unfortunately, we weren't there to personally accept the award since the entire W@W Team (that's the two of us!) had to oversee our own awards ceremony. Congratulations to our friends from The Wedding Library which won the Best Website award for the same category. That's two victories for the wedding industry! We thank all the W@Wies and friends in the industry who voted for us. Salamat po! =)

Going... going...GONE!

The 2005 W@Wie Christmas Auction is currently ongoing with some items already won! We do this annually in conjunction with W@W Christmas Party to raise funds for the event and to help our beneficiaries like God's Work in Progress. This year's items up for bidding has just gotten even bigger than last year's. Topping the list are four (YES, FOUR!) bridal gown designed by Michi Calica, wedding photo coverage by Fol Rana, Jr. and DecisiveMoments, and a digital video coverage by Jason Magbanua. W@Wies will have the EXCLUSIVE chance to have these at a fraction of their actual market value. There are more items up for grabs! There are even more prizes for raffle during our party. Thanks to all the generous suppliers for again supporting W@W in this annual endeavor. Salamat po uli! =)

Queer Eye for the Pinoy Guy

Catch Queer Eye for the Straight Guy this Monday (Nov. 14) at 9PM on ETC as the Fab Five help a Filipino couple (Chris & Michelle) realize the wedding reception of their dreams. Backgrounder: "Before they'd made any wedding plans, Chris was offered a business opportunity too good to pass up but that required an immediate move to New Jersey. Michelle's conservative Filipino family insisted the couple marry before they would allow their daughter to go with him. In order to earn her parents' blessing, the couple agreed and was married in a hastily arranged, tiny service. The Fab Five's mission: help this eager groom give his bride the wedding reception of her dreams." Learn more about this episode.
