We are urging you to update your directory entries between now up to April 30, 2006 only. Starting May 1, submissions for new entries and corrections will be ON HOLD as we'll be doing our annual directory 'clean-up'. The W@Wie volunteers will then start to call and/or email each listed suppliers in every category to verify if the contact info listed is still working. Thru this, we will be able to delete entries that are either already out-of-reach or out-of-business. Aside from making the W@W Directory up-to-date, we do this annual clean-up in preparation for the 2006-2007 edition of the Bride's Yellow Pages.

19 APRIL 2006 Wed Songs Series: The OPM Scene
In the Original Pilipino Music (OPM) front, there have been a lot of noteworthy songs fit for weddings. In fact, we have featured some of them here in W@W. A couple of years back, Martin Nievera came out with an entire wedding album called "Best Wishes." He said that the idea for the said album came about after he's written "With You" for the wedding of Christine Bersola & Julius Babao. Just recently, we have also featured the works of Lourdes "Bing" Pimentel in an article we called "Stapel Verliefd", the title of the song she's written for the engagement of her daughter and son-in-law. In the coming days, we'll be writing about the work of yet another Filipino songwriter and the song that served as the anthem for the so-called "wedding of the year".

06 APRIL 2006 More on the Sand Ceremony
Christian weddings may also incorporate the Sand Ceremony in other venues other than the beach. If you're tying the knot in a Catholic church, you may want to ask your officiating priest if he would allow it. There is wide assortment of colored sands available in craft stores. You may also find colored "sands" (actually fine salt with coloring) in Divisoria at P50-P60/kilo. The only downside to this alternative is when the moisture gets into the vase especially when you intend to make the symbolic sand mixture as a keepsake after the wedding. As for the appropriate reading for the Sand Ceremony, VRC Creative shares with us this sample text which you officiant may read.

05 APRIL 2006 The Sand Ceremony
For those considering a beach wedding, you may want to consider the Sand Ceremony. This is one novel alternative to the unity candle ceremony incorporated into many western weddings. The essence of this ritual is to symbolize the union of two into one. The ceremony is not only meaningful and interesting but also more appropriate for an outdoor setting. If you're interested in doing this for your wedding, learn how to go about it.

(Prep Talk - excerpt) Exactly how much are custom-made, designer bridal gowns cost nowadays? The price range may vary from P50,000 to P500,000 and beyond! But a P20,000 designer wedding gown is out of the going price range and more of the exception rather than the rule in today's standards. We invited five designers to take on the challenge of designing a bridal gown that's worth only 20k... [MORE]
