The Best Weddings of 2006!

For our year-ender column, we asked several wedding suppliers which wedding they considered the best among clients they handled this year. After all, who better to judge the year’s best than the very people took part in and witnessed countless weddings in 2006?

As for the criteria, we let each supplier set their own; it could be the attention to details, the budget, the client’s social stature, the relationship they established with the couple, or a combination of all of the above. (READ MORE...)

The Best of 2006!

The upcoming edition of Manila Bulletin's About Weddings is all about the Best of the Best for 2006! The cover story is "About Weddings 2006 Roundup" which gathers the most memorable wedding news, articles and features for the year. For every blushing bride, there is also a feature about "2006's Best Beauty Products". The result of the AW Year-end Poll (which we ran here in W@W from Nov. 26 to Dec. 10) will also be presented in this issue. For our PrepTalk, we ask several suppliers to tell us the "Best Weddings of 2006!" This exciting issue comes out Saturday (Dec. 16) so grab your copy!

A wedding song called "Ikaw na Nga"

As we reported last October, a W@Wie won the grand prize in My Wedding Song songwriting competition. Now we present to you the studio recording of the song "Ikaw na Nga."

The song -- which speaks of a life partner being an answered prayer from God --  is interpreted by wedding singer, Paulo Clemente. Paulo also deemed it nice to have the songwriter render her own interpretation, hence the female version by Jane (ni Oliver).  We congratulate the couple and wish them the very best as they head to the altar this Sunday (Dec. 10).

They are one of the 150 W@Wie couples(!) tying the knot this December. Do listen as we dedicate this beautiful love song to these couples.

Ikaw na Nga - vocals by: Paulo Clemente

Ikaw n Nga - vocals by: Jacquelin Tan

May we propose a toast?

If you are feeling extra generous this Christmas season, here's an idea. Yournameontoast.com is a unique website that offers advertising spaces by putting any writable stuff you can imagine (as long as it's not offensive!) on a toasted bread. You can have your name, your wedding date or company logo on the bread which will then be linked to your website. Get creative! The best thing here is ALL the proceeds go to charity so it's advertising money well spent. If you don't have a site but still want to donate, you can have your toast liked to your favorite website! *hint-hint* The site accepts payment thru PayPal or credit card. We got W@W adver-toasted already. Check out the others who got toasted!

W@W conquers Dubai!

Last week, the Dubai-based W@Wies gathered for an EB/get-together. Since the group is turning out to be another solid W@W sub-community, we decided to formalize the group and added W@W-Dubai eGroup to our ever-expanding W@W community. Now, they have their own venue to discuss wedding concerns related to where they are. Their get-together was actually their 2nd already, the first one being held last October. Read the personal account of Lei (ni Randy) about both EB's.

AW treats your wedding guests!

Tomorrow's edition of About Weddings will all be for and about your wedding guests, so do get a copy!

While we're on the topic, let's look back and re-visit our article last December dedicated to them. Again, be warned that we're no Etiquette Gurus so don't take offense with our brash answers to questions we made-up ourselves. If you're a soon-to-wed, we encourage you to forward this link to all your invitees or post the entire text in your WedBlog. Afterall, this could be a sneaky way to tell your guests what you REALLY like for a wedding gift without saying it yourself! Read on...
