When not holding a video camera, Jason Magbanua is busy tinkering with his new toy called Lomo. It is a film-based, still camera which produces images which usually do not conform with the traditional rules of fine photography: over-saturated colors, over/under exposure, blurring, etc. Check out the Lomo images he took in an actual wedding. 30 JULY 2007 Medical Musical Cure?
Four friends all in the medical profession formed a musical group composed of two vocalists, a flutist and a pianist. Having started only this year, the group says they finally gave in to their heart's desire to make music and aptly called themselves Heartsong. Now, their weekend gigs performing in weddings serve as their respite from stress in the hospital environment. Know more and hear music samplers from this group.

26 JULY 2007 Homer & Marge weds!
Aside from the subject and the accompanying image in this entry, I must admit that nothing else in this post is wedding-related. This is just a random thought about The Simpsons Movie as one of us is a BIG fan of the show. Though there was a part in the movie when Homer was watching their wedding video, this is not the point of this post.The film is entertaining not in the big Hollywood blockbuster kinda way, but the creators clearly had fun making the movie with the intention to sometimes mess up with the audience. Don't expect much, it's the TV show on the big screen. If this weekend you're already in Megamall visiting the Wedding Congress, why not hit the cinemas afterwards to watch. It's fun! Lito Genilo shared with us the news that ten of his photographs submitted to the Wedding and Portrait Photographers International (WPPI) 8x10 Print Competition for the first half of 2007 got recognized! This photo here -- which we've featured here before and now adjudged the 2nd place in Wedding Details Category -- seems to indicate the number of recognition he's garnered. Another photograph (couple rowing on the lake) was named 3rd place in the Engagement Category. Eight other SmartShot images received Accolade of Excellence Awards from the competition. 13 JULY 2007 Wedding with a cause
We have recently updated our Charities & Causes directory for those soon-to-weds considering of donating their souvenir budget to a worthy cause in behalf of their guests. The additional institutions were personally suggested by some members of the W@W Community. One of the newly listed institutions is Gawad Kalinga (GK) whose vision is a slum-free, squatter-free nation by providing land for the landless and homes for the homeless for every Filipino. Last July 7, two of its volunteers (Jay & Eena ) got married in the GK-built chapel in Bicol. They picked 7.7.7 not because it's believed to be lucky but because it represented the GK mission: To build 700,000 homes in 7,000 communities in 7 years. 12 JULY 2007 A celebrity 7.7.7 wedding!
Seems like there are countless 7.7.7 nuptials worth blogging about. This time, it's about the wedding of actress Nikki Valdez to her Fil-Canadian fiancé Christopher Lina. The ceremony was held in Don Bosco Church in Makati. Watching the onsite AVP created for them by Bob Nicolas, it looked like it was a star-studded event. 10 JULY 2007 Two original songs, one wedding date...
The 7.7.7 altar date led us to the discovery of two original songs heard in two different weddings. The first one is called "I Say I Do" written by the bride and set to music by Trina Belamide(read more about Trina and the wedding songs she creates in this article). Joseph & Ela got married last Saturday in Tagaytay. See here their onsite video featuring the beautiful wedding song as sung by the bride herself.
The other song was also heard last Saturday during the Cebu wedding of JP & Cielo, the couple whose proposal story we've featured here(incidentally, Cielo is also a part of the Blushing Brides coordinating team). What makes it more special is that the paean is written and sung by the groom. Ladies, get ready for your hearts to melt as you listen to this song about a guy who's so madly in love with his bride . Exactly a month ago, San Juan City mayor JV Ejercito (son of former President Erap Estrada & Ms. Guia Gomez) and Hong Kong based flight stewardess, Cindy Lotuaco tied the knot at the Pinaglabanan Church.
Their courtship, proposal and wedding story was covered in last Saturday's edition of the Manila Bulletin's About Weddings. In the article, the mayor said, "Since I'm the one who's here, I was the one who decided on a lot of things. Siya sa motif lang. Ako 'yung sa food, entertainment, bridal car, and so many other things."
This Saturday proves to be a popular wedding day. Among the W@Wies alone, there are 9 couples who are tying-the-knot. And it's not just here! This article says "it's the luckiest day of the century!" While this other article claims "it's the biggest wedding day ever!" We're already anticipating that next year's 08.08.08 weddings will even be bigger.
