25 SEPTEMBER 2007 Crossword Cues
Since we're on the topic of games, here's another. Clarice forwarded us this interesting news concerning a crossword puzzle. Last Sunday, a guy in the States proposed to his girlfriend by way of solving a crossword together on a magazine. He got the cue when they reached 111 across: "Generic proposal" (Jen + Aric generic). The answer: "Will you marry me?" The man was in cahoots with the publication's puzzle-writing tandem (Emily Cox and Henry Rathvon) who themselves are married to each other. The image above is the actual crossword in question; click it to see and maybe even try to answer. Read this article to know how exactly he planned the whole thing.

24 SEPTEMBER 2007 Wedding Dash!
If you enjoy playing computer games like Diner Dash, then you'll probably enjoy this one even more especially if you're into weddings. We first heard of this game from actual wedding planners: Wewe Ocampo (Wisdom on Weddings) and Dawn Sim-Coloma (Marrymakers). The game is called Wedding Dash and the objective is to help the character (Quinn) pull off the perfect wedding reception and make the bride and groom happy. We have yet to try it, but it sure sounds stressful but fun! You may visit this Yahoo! Games page to learn more about it or to download a trial version. Have fun!

19 SEPTEMBER 2007 A wedding song called "No One Else"
If you're an avid reader of Yes! magazine, you probably have seen the feature on Nikki Valdez' wedding in this month's issue. There was even a mention there of a song composed by the bride herself in collaboration with Top Suzara(formerly of the band Freestyle) which Nikki sang to surprise her groom. Through her videographer, Bob Nicolas, we sought Nikki's permission to allow us to share with you this video of that special wedding song taken during their reception. Don't miss the amusing ending! Watch it and read the lyrics below.
No One Else
words and music by: Nikki Valdez & Top Suzara
I
From the moment I looked into your eyes
I knew you would be special to me
But I never really realized
What a dream it all would turn out to be
Refrain 1
I’ve finally fond the one
I’d never do without…
My very best friend and lover in one
II
So today I made a promise to keep
The promise that I’ll always be true
I’ve been dreaming ‘bout this day for the longest time
A day I share with someone like you
Refrain 2
My very own prince has come
You’ve swept me off my feet
Now I know fairy tales can come true
‘Coz one just happened to me
Chorus 1
There’s something that I want you to know
There’s something that I want you to understand
Today I made a promise to hold your hand
And I'm never letting go
Chorus 2
Every day I’ll love you more and more
Oh I love you babe with all my heart and soul
My heart won't have to search anymore
I know that it will always be you (and no one else)
Bridge
You are truly heaven sent
An angel sent from up above
For better or worse I take you
To be the only one I love
(repeat chorus 1 & 2)
Coda Thank you for my dream come true…
Forever it will always be you…
and no one else...
no one else....

12 SEPTEMBER 2007 Now who would want the other cake?
Did you see the "Man Stroke Woman" clip we posted yesterday? Now, here comes another. Same soon-to-wed couple, same scenario, but interacting with a different wedding vendor. This time, the groom-to-be was smart enough not to say the word "wedding" in the conversation and only mentions about having a "party... just a normal, run-of-the-mill, normal party." We have to warn you though that some swearing occurs in the video; afterall, this was originally shown to the more liberal British audience. Having said that, get readly to watch the clip below.

11 SEPTEMBER 2007 Who doesn't like wedding flowers?
There's this British sketch comedy called "Man Stroke Woman" that takes a funny look on everyday situations. The short skits often highlight the difference between the two genders in a tongue-in-cheek fashion. In this particular clip, a soon-to-wed couple has an encounter with a florist. See the group dynamics and find out who gangs up on who. hahaha! Watch the clip below.
03 SEPTEMBER 2007 Pinay cake artist cited in Wikipedia!
How good are the Filipino wedding suppliers? Just as our videographers and photographers are reaping international awards, a Filipina cake artist has been cited as one of the "contemporary master cake artists" in Wikipedia -- the internet's free encyclopedia. In the article about Cake Decorating, below is a quote within the subject about Cake Decorating as an Art:
"Cake decorating attracts artists from many different mediums. Several contemporary master cake artists were trained in other fine arts before discovering they had a passion and talent for cake making. Colette Peters was a former painter, Ron-Ben Israel of New York was a former dancer, Duff Goldman of Chicago was a graffiti artist, Judy Uson of the Philippines has a degree in Fine Arts, and Bonnie Gordon of Toronto was a student of art history and is the daughter of Shirley Gordon, a well-known Canadian fashion designer.
