For almost seven years of its existence, WeddingsAtWork.com (W@W) has transformed from a mere wedding website into a support-group of Filipino brides & grooms. These member-couples who fondly call themselves W@Wies, exchange daily e-mails about their wedding preps, rave about recommended wedding vendors or rant about bumps in their preparations. The W@Wies only know each other through these email exchanges and yet, the bonding and friendships fostered are truly heartwarming.

Last August 27, we organized a grand get-together party for the W@Wies so they finally got the chance to get to know the faces behind the e-mails. The Oasis - a new special events venue along Aurora Boulevard - hosted the event for us with Josiah's, The Plaza and Tamayo's catering services each provided sumptuous snacks and dinner for the attendees.

As Oasis' landscaped ponds and gardens are lush and green, we thought it would be a perfect setting for some pictorial. We then invited John Ong of ImagineNation Photography and Frank Dizon of Imagineer Digital to set a pre-nup pictorial to some couples pro bono. We're glad they agreed and their shots are lovely indeed as seen in some pictures here.

It was a great party indeed! We quote a W@Wie, a groom at that in saying "the EB was a success, venue was great, the food was delicious and the games were enjoyable." It gives a warm feeling watching them the whole night. The group dictated the pace, the program and everything. We had no set program; everything depended on the crowd's reception. Our 'tame' games were immediately scrapped as we knew the crowd is fit for the naughty games. And to think most just met in person for the first time that night. Visions & Ideas managed the event for us and made sure the program run smoothly. Balay Kandila provided us with a cozy set of lounge chairs, throw pillows and mats setting a relaxed and casual mood. Of course, the games and prizes were made to be more exciting with the spa certificates from Blue Mountains and Tranquility Spa plus the custom W@W mugs sponsored by NetGold Prints.

Cheers to the W@Wies and to all the suppliers who supported this event. We are truly grateful for your generosity!
