A Wedding Proposal Story: Floating on Cloud 9 while diving underwater!
Monday, April 26th, 2010

Meet Mark & Anna.

The two are college sweethearts who have been together for about 10 years already.

Sometime last year, on a weekend he had work, she scheduled a diving trip in Anilao, Batangas with friends. For their last dive, Anna was instructed by her diving buddy to follow 30 feet underwater. When they got there, here’s what she saw…

… a tarp with her name and the words “WILL YOU MARRY ME??”

Then she saw this guy in his dive mask kneeling on the seabed with a bouquet of flowers. It could only be Mark!  After she signaled ‘YES’ to him, he handed her the ring attached to a string and to his BCD (buoyancy control device).  He also gave her tarpaulin that had ‘YES’ on it. Afterall, nobody really expect to hear that sweet word underwater. :)

As soon as they surfaced, this first thing she uttered to him wasn’t a verbal yes, but “Are you okay?”

Turns out, Mark is no swimmer.  Despite that, he willingly took diving lessons (behind her back) specifically for this proposal.  The lengths some men go through just to pop THE question never cease to amaze.

“People asked me how I felt that day and I always have the same answer. I was in cloud nine and the experience was surreal,” Anna said.  The engaged couple is set to have a ten-ten-te-ten (10.10.10) wedding.

Cheers to soon-to-weds! :)

Orgasmic fun at Bim & Gen’s Pre-Marital Party!

Benz & I have attended pre-wedding parties separately in the past. Thing is, the bachelor parties I’ve been to had a non-disclosure agreement upon entry, while Benz attended bridal showers that are too wholesome to be interesting. :P

Last night was probably the first time we’ve attended a not-so-wholesome pre-wedding party together. It’s not like a tame shower not a quite an off-the-record stag either.  The event was just pure unadulterated bastusan!

From what I gather, a pre-marital party is to ready the soon-to-weds prepare for the wedding night. All the attendees are one in saying ‘NO’ to pre-marital sex. *rolleyes*

To Bim & Gen, the couple who runs phoeben teocson | wedding cinema, our congratulations and best wishes for your November 21 wedding… night! ;)

Props to Queen Gutierrez-David of Just Like Ours, the soon-to-weds’ wedding planner for orchestrating the whole thing and keeping it a secret from the couple.  Now I’m assuming that a pre-marital party will now be part of her freebie for her other clients. bwahaha!

BEST. PROPOSAL. EVER.

Guy and Gal have been going out for a year when Gal thinks of throwing Guy a surprise party. She goes through great pains of organizing the awesome event, inviting all their friends and keeping everything top secret. She thinks she’s successful, especially when his face genuinely lights up as they all shout, “Surprise!” at the big reveal.

Then, just as she’s glowing in triumph, he turns to her and uncovers an even bigger reveal: Guy gets on his knee and asks her to marry him, whipping out a beautiful diamond solitaire as the entire room erupt into another round of “Surprise!”

Turns out, Guy knew all about the party after all, and it was Gal who got way more than she bargained for.

You think you can top that? Send the BEST. PROPOSAL. EVER. and you could win a gift certificate for a prenup pictorial with Chito Cleofas and many other prizes!

Are they preparing for a wedding or a presidential campaign?
Friday, June 19th, 2009

That’s actually a good question. It’s what’s in the mind of people about the Korina Sanchez-Mar Roxas relationship.  Inquirer did an interview with the bride-to-be during last Sunday’s much-covered pamanhikan to answer the above question and more.  Below is an excerpt from the said interview.

Q. Some people note that your wedding preparations look like a campaign, with you and Mar going around the Philippines in search of local delicacies/crafts. Would you like to address this?

A. Even a question can be an editorial in itself! Many times a question will be posed to elicit a reaction. But, this isn’t one of those questions. It is something we are prepared to answer because we understand why people ask.

It’s the farthest from the truth. You wouldn’t believe how many people ask about the wedding details, preparations… Wherever we go that is announced, the press will be there. We give in to interviews and photographs because it answers people’s questions. I don’t think newspapers, TV or radio programs will put on material that people aren’t interested in, to start with. I guess, we make it to those media platforms because people are interested and we are happy to share the information. We don’t say, “Vote for Mar.” We say, “We love the flowers from Davao.” Nothing political about that.

Q. Have you had to deal with other criticisms relative to the engagement/wedding?

A. As with all things in life, people will comment, criticize. What I am focused on is what is important, what matters. That list narrows down more and more as you get older and, wishfully, wiser. Wala naman kaming magagawa kung natutuwa ang tao sa relasyong ito. But there hardly are criticisms, or maybe we are oblivious to whatever negativity is out there. We are too heartened with the happy response to this happy time for Mar and me. [READ FULL Q&A]

Musical Marriage Proposal at Disneyland - viral ad or for real?
Wednesday, June 17th, 2009

Saw Karl posted the clip below in FB earlier today.

What’s it about? Here’s how the Disney peeps described it:

“A magical moment happens on Main Street, U.S.A. when a young man proposes to his girlfriend on a Summer evening in Disneyland Resort.

Congrats John & Erika!  It’s definitely a streetacular proposal!  Staged or not, everything is possible in Disneyland. ;)
