Mango Red goes Transcontinental!
Monday, June 27th, 2011

I was amazed with the artwork in this poster the first time I saw it.

trasncontinental.jpg

I’m digging the vintage feel of it all. This was designed by artist JP Cuison for MangoRed.   MangoRyan wanted us to share this with all the abroad-based W@Wies who may be interested in having a prenup or postnup shoot with them.

There are only 20 slots available.  Checkout the poster and see if they are visiting a city near you.  Email mangoredstudios@gmail.com for inquires or to reserve a slot. :)

gettyimages_109399194.jpg

The marketing/communications arm of TLC Southeast Asia sent W@W an email with its special programming schedule (dubbed as “Royal Wedding Week”) counting down to the much awaited Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton and we are happy to share it with our readers.

With the venue chosen, the wedding invites sent out to a super VIP guest list, and the royal wedding date fast approaching, the wait is finally coming to an end!

Witness the highly awaited royal nuptials of Prince William and Kate Middleton when TLC kicks off a week of exclusive programming centered on the royal family and the wedding, beginning Monday, April 25, in a lead up to the wedding day on Friday, April 29. Please refer below to the programme lineup for airing details.

• Charles and Di: Once Upon a Time
premieres Monday, April 25 at 2100 hrs (9:00 pm SIN/HK/MNL)

Relive the most-watched wedding of the 20th century—one billion people, all glued to the television on July 29, 1981, as Prince Charles married Lady Diana Spencer. This two-hour special takes viewers back to that very day, replaying the memorable romantic moments as well as fascinating, never-seen-before footage. From the quirky to the queenly, poptoid graphics on screen reveal little-known facts and behind-the-scenes trivia about what made this a fairytale wedding come true.

• Royally Astounding: 30 Defining Days of the Monarchy
premieres Tuesday, April 26 at 2100 hrs (9:00 pm SIN/HK/MNL)

This compelling documentary holds up a magnifying glass to 30 days in the life of the royal family over the last 30 years. How did the British Monarchy learn from the mistakes made back in 1981 to ensure the mismatch of Charles and Diana would not be repeated in 2011 with William and Kate? We count the 30 key dates—good and bad—that enabled a many-centuries-old institution to “Keep Calm and Carry On.â€

• Wild About Prince Harry
premieres Wednesday, April 27 at 2100 hrs (9:00 pm SIN/HK/MNL)

With his brother William about to tie the knot, Prince Harry, at 26, takes over the top spot on the list of the world’s most eligible bachelors. This hour-long special seeks to answer the question of just how did a teen—so troubled after his mother’s death—manage to transform himself into a war hero, a charity campaigner, and a royal pin-up worthy of best man status?

• Making of a Royal Wedding
premieres Thursday, April 28 at 2100 hrs (9:00 pm SIN/HK/MNL)

What does it take to pull off a once in a lifetime event? This hour-long special brings audiences inside some of the amazing choreography of logistics and details that go into preparing for the wedding of the century.

From security to dresses, from maintenance to meals, we’ll catch up with the tailors, photographers, artisans, vendors and even wedding guests as they all get ready for the Big Day.

• Extreme Royal Collections
premieres Thursday, April 28 at 2200 hrs (10:00 pm SIN/HK/MNL)

Meet the most avid royal collectors from around the world! In the UK, squeeze into Margaret’s home where, after 30 years of non-stop collecting, she lives proudly surrounded by 10,000 plates, cups, spoons, and figurines in an amazing world of regal clutter. In Australia, rub shoulders with Janet and Philip, a couple who regularly open their doors to tour bus parties for tea and a tour of their royal bounty. And in the US, get a glimpse of the glamorous world of Pat, a high-end collector whose haul of royal collectables includes some of Princess Diana’s dazzling gowns.

• Countdown to the Royal Wedding
premieres Friday, April 29 at 1500 hrs (3:00 pm SIN/HK/MNL)

Royal experts and beloved Say Yes to the Dress star Randy Fenoli host a roundtable discussion from the UK, New York and beyond to bring viewers up to speed on everything they need to know for the big day.

• Live Royal Wedding coverage
premieres Friday, April 29 at 1700 hrs (5:00 pm SIN/HK/MNL)

Join Clinton Kelly of What Not To Wear, Randy Fenoli of “Say Yes to the Dress”, and entertainment correspondent Amanda Byram, who will be bringing you the day’s events in a special version of the live coverage exclusive to TLC.

What to expect in W@W VideoFest?
Wednesday, March 9th, 2011

It’s the second time that we are holding the W@W VideoFest.  The first was back in 2009 as we celebrated W@W’s 10th anniversary.  This year, the event spotlights the decade-long career of arguably the country’s most prolific wedding supplier.

jmag-videofest2011.jpg

W@W VideoFest presents BIO: Jason Magbanua.

But instead of seeing the works of JMag, what will be shown are docus about the videographer’s life and career.  The participating videographers in this event were personally handpicked by Jason himself.   Chosen were those whose career has been influenced and/or helped by Jason himself while they were still starting in the videography business: Ian Cruz, John Marvi de Guzman of CinemaWorks, Bob Nicolas, Threelogy, and Mayad Studios.

Below are aswers to some FAQs about the event:

Q. Is the event for free?

A. Yes this event is by invitation and guests come in for free.  As of this writing, the 7:30 screening on March 15 is already at SRO capacity.  We have just decided to opened another screening at 9PM.  For those still interested to get invites, kindly email wawvideofest@gmail.com with the name of attendees.

Q. Should I dress up for the event?

A. You surely can but it is not required.  While other guests are coming from work in their office getup, some wedding suppliers are likely to dress-up for the event much like attending a red-carpet premier. Either way is okay really.  But of course, a snapshot in our paparazzi wall at Cinema 4’s lobby will be nice when you’re dressed up. Oh, and Baicapture will setup a photobooth there as your souvenir to all the guests.

Q. Will we see the best works of Jason Magbanua in the event?

A. Sorry, but no.  What will be shown are works of other videographers (listed above) about the life and career of Jason Magbanua.

Q. Should we bring the invites we received in the mail to enter the cinema?

A. No need.  Just give your name when you approach registration table at the lobby of Cinema 4.  The staff of EventsExperts, who’s managing the event for us will be on hand to assist you. (By the way, the lovely invites were especially made for us by Printsonalities.  Thank you very much! :)

Q. Who did the movie posters?

MangoRed did the shoot and layout for the posters. Aside from the one of JMag as seen a above, he made five more layouts each featuring the five videographers whose work will be shown during the event.  You may see them all here. Don’t forget to checkout these posters in the backlit display along the Rockwell’s Cinama 4 lobby.

Q. Do we get a free popcorn or something?

A. Munchies are available at the cinema lobby.  Feel free to order. KKB. :)

Tonight’s the 2010 W@W Christmas Party!
Friday, November 26th, 2010

We know it’s just November 26. For those who may thinks it’s too early to hold one in November, then a little explanation may be in order.  December is the month where a lot of W@Wies get married.  It’s also the busiest time of the year for wedding suppliers as well.  Why, it’s the PEAK season for weddings in the Philippines!

We are expecting around 300 guests.  200 will be seated and 100 will party cocktail-style. And before everything gets caught in the frenzy during-and-after party, we already want to thank everybody for making tonight’s event possible.

Top of mind, we thank Jets & Rhona Battung (Jets & Rhona: Canaan Celebrations)  — W@Wie couple turned wedding planners  — who’s handling the event.  Props to them for not balking on us when we asked them if they’d be interested to help us with this event.  As Benz said in her profile stat, Jets & Rhona made everything easier for her.

the-pergola.jpg

We would also like to acknowledge The Pergola for hosting the venue of our Christmas Party this year.  This new venue for special events within the CCP Complex just opened mid this year and we are happy that they took us in upon learning about our party. (For those going to the party, here’s a map to the venue.)

We will always grateful to the Verzosa Family and the entire team of Josiah’s Catering for being, practically, a main fixture in each and every W@W event each and every year.  Same goes to Ronald of 4th Wall for being our go-to-guy for the stage setup and everything else in between. Life saver talaga!

Light & sounds for the party will be provided by Sensitivity. Francis Day will be the program host.

The names above are just a handful.  We have listed in this page all the companies who have stood as sponsors and prizes donors in tonight’s event. The said list is a constant work in progress as prizes keep coming in the past few days.  We made another list of all the wedding suppliers who have pledged their goods and/or services to the W@Wies thru the annual W@W Christmas Auction.

Maraming salamat sa patuloy na suporta sa W@W at sa mga W@Wies!

PARTY NA! :)
