Holy Sheaths! Another designer bagged the Supplier of the Year award!
Sunday, November 27th, 2011

In 2005, Veluz brought home the Supplier of the Year award.  Cecilio Abad did the same SOTY feat in 2008.

In last Friday’s celebration, designer Boy Kastner Santos of Sheaths Couture has been named Supplier of the Year in the 2011 W@Wie Awards!

Get to know more about him and the company in this previous W@W Chat episode.

Tito Boy landed on top among the Top 10 suppliers as voted by this year’s batch of W@Wies.  Here’s our Top 10 again as presented by Phoeben Teocson Cinema during our awards night . . .

Our Top 10 (eleven actually!) gamely dressed up for the shoot.  The stills used as panels in this comics-style video is now posted in this storyboard photo blog by Paul Vincent.   And in case you missed it, listen to this special podcast episode featuring our Top 10 suppliers recoded the same day of the shoot. :)

But who among them joined Tito Boy in our Top 5?  (more…)

about this episode: this compilation of mini Q&As with the 2011 W@W Top 10 wedding suppliers were recorded off-studio during their AVP shoot as conceptualized by Phoeben Teocson Cinema.  Said video will be part of the awarding ceremonies to be held this Friday within the W@W Christmas Party at 1Esplanade.

Best of luck to our Top 10! :)

Announcing the Top 10 Wedding Suppliers of 2011!
Saturday, October 22nd, 2011

top10-2011.jpgThe W@Wies have spoken. A total of 175 wedding suppliers were nominated. Each vote tallied and tabulated.  Two suppliers were tied at the tenth spot so there are 11 names in this year’s lineup.

Emerging at the Top 10 are two photographers, two caterers, two florists/stylists, a gown designer, a makeup artist, a videographer, a cake maker, and a wedding emcee. Among all of them, six were previous nominees in the past W@Wie Awards, while the other five are first-timers in the magic circle.

Without further ado, here are the Top 10 Wedding Suppliers for The 2011 W@Wie Awards (in alphabetical order):

As of today, our Top 10 are all on equal footing as the W@Wies vote anew to determine our Top 5, and ultimately, the 2011 Supplier of the Year. Winners will be formally announced during the W@W Christmas Party & Awards Night to be held on November 25 (Friday) at 1Esplanade (SM Central Business Park Seaside cor. Bay Boulevard, Pasay City) through the kindness of Josiah’s Catering.

Cheers to our Top 10! :)

RejectKrew is the 2010 W@W Supplier of the Year!

after-party antics: Elmer Bautista of RejectKrew ‘tossed’ and carried by fellow Top 5 winners — Jayson Arquiza and Phoeben Teocson (photo by Paul Vincent)

If the applause from the party crowd was any indication, you’d say that RejectKrew (lights & sounds) is a clear favorite of the W@Wies! In Elmer’s acceptance speech, he thank his hardworking team declaring that they are the ‘Krew’ in the company name.  Then came his clincher: “Ako po yung reject!”  :D

But before the announcement of 2010 Supplier of the Year, W@W formally presented the Top 10 Wedding Suppliers through this video by CinemaWorks. Shot on location at The Mango Farm in Antipolo, it was Marvi’s idea to shoot in the great outdoors, in contrast with the studio interviews done in the past W@Wie Awards.

So here they are again: W@W’s Top 10 Suppliers of 2010

It is our first time to work with John Marvi de Guzman of Cinemaworks and the guy doesn’t take the name of his company lightly.  As seen in the video, his work is cinematic.  The on-the-spot prop & set styling by Dylan provided the old world charm in the video.  Shout-outs to  Val Villarin and Jesy Alto who had to get up for an early call time for the hair & makeup of the women for the shoot.

Here the video declaring the Top 5 Suppliers of 2010!

It’s been customary in every W@Wie Awards that we announce the Supplier of the Year not by opening an envelope, but by dimming the lights and watching the video.  Thus it would be understandable if the crowd didn’t get to completely view and hear this last video with cheers and applause drowning any other sound in the venue that night.

So here it is again.  Announcing, the 2010 W@W Supplier of the Year!

Again, our heartfelt congratulations to Elmer Bautista and the entire team of Rejectkrew for bagging the top award!

Tonight’s the 2010 W@W Christmas Party!
Friday, November 26th, 2010

We know it’s just November 26. For those who may thinks it’s too early to hold one in November, then a little explanation may be in order.  December is the month where a lot of W@Wies get married.  It’s also the busiest time of the year for wedding suppliers as well.  Why, it’s the PEAK season for weddings in the Philippines!

We are expecting around 300 guests.  200 will be seated and 100 will party cocktail-style. And before everything gets caught in the frenzy during-and-after party, we already want to thank everybody for making tonight’s event possible.

Top of mind, we thank Jets & Rhona Battung (Jets & Rhona: Canaan Celebrations)  — W@Wie couple turned wedding planners  — who’s handling the event.  Props to them for not balking on us when we asked them if they’d be interested to help us with this event.  As Benz said in her profile stat, Jets & Rhona made everything easier for her.

We would also like to acknowledge The Pergola for hosting the venue of our Christmas Party this year.  This new venue for special events within the CCP Complex just opened mid this year and we are happy that they took us in upon learning about our party. (For those going to the party, here’s a map to the venue.)

We will always grateful to the Verzosa Family and the entire team of Josiah’s Catering for being, practically, a main fixture in each and every W@W event each and every year.  Same goes to Ronald of 4th Wall for being our go-to-guy for the stage setup and everything else in between. Life saver talaga!

Light & sounds for the party will be provided by Sensitivity. Francis Day will be the program host.

The names above are just a handful.  We have listed in this page all the companies who have stood as sponsors and prizes donors in tonight’s event. The said list is a constant work in progress as prizes keep coming in the past few days.  We made another list of all the wedding suppliers who have pledged their goods and/or services to the W@Wies thru the annual W@W Christmas Auction.

Maraming salamat sa patuloy na suporta sa W@W at sa mga W@Wies!

PARTY NA! :)
