We asked wedding suppliers and our dear W@Wies to email us photos and links of favorite wedding cakes they’ve seen the past year. From those we received, we trimmed the list down to our eleven favorites.

See our eleven favorites in Wedding Cakes | Best of 2011 posted in the W@W FB page and LIKE those you like.  :)

Grandest Grand Entrance of Newlyweds we’ve seen by far!
Tuesday, January 31st, 2012

What a way to entertain the guests right before the newly-minted Mr. & Mrs. make their Grand Entrance at the wedding reception!

The couple is Errol Aricheta + Aubrey Carampel (yes, the bride is the showbiz reporter for GMA News). They got hitched December 17, 2011 at Sta.Rita de Cascia in QC and the reception was in White Space in Pasong Tamo, Makati. Not pedicab-able. No, not by long shot. This video was edited by wedding videographer, Stephen Prado.  He co-directed this with Cesar Apolinario — also a Kapuso reporter.

ENJOY! :D

Sampaguita - the perfect flower for any Pinoy wedding!
Wednesday, July 6th, 2011

There is no bloom more appropriate for a Filipiniana themed wedding than the Sampaguita, our very own National Flower.  But oftentimes,  the only  sampaguita we see during weddings are the garlands sold by vendors outside the church.

Serge Igonia of Loi Floral Sense sent us some pictures how he uses our national flower in weddings.  Check these out!

A wedding for the books!
Tuesday, July 5th, 2011

We almost missed posting about this real-life wedding. Their story was emailed to us by Jasmine Mendiola who was the make-up artist in the said wedding.  The excerpt below is from an article of the same title:

(via Phil. Star) As Rocky (Ramon Miguel B. Abaño) and Sarah (Sarah Amelyn G. Bautista) exchanged “I dos” last January 22, they not only shared their vows in front of families and friends, they shared their thoughts and words on love and life with their first co-authored book, Under the January Moon (published by Central Books Publishing). The book, given as a wedding souvenir to their guests, is a collection of prose and poetry written by them throughout the years. [READ MORE….]

from the bride: Our wedding was a Prose & Poetry-themed wedding cum book launch cum fundraising project. My husband and I launched our first co-authored book entitled “Under the January Moon.” We gave the books to our guests as souvenirs. At the same time, the guests were encouraged to buy a book for a friend and the whole amount goes to two institutions here in our country that focus on the development of children in depressed communities: one is SAGIP (Sagipin ang Galing, Isip at Pangrap), a child & youth development program of Gawad Kalinga (means “to give care”); and the other one is Santa Maria Eufrasia Daycare Center, a school in the mountains of Sariaya, Quezon, practicing the Waldorf teaching method. Donations were made under the name of the donor guest. This advocacy angle of our wedding was our way of doing our share in making the world a little bit brighter for children. It’s our lifetime commitment to love not just each other but those who are in need.

 Bravo Rocky & Sarah! :)
