The 2006-2007 edition of the Bride’s Yellow Pages (BYP) is finally out! We’ve definitely devoted the longest time in coming out with this one as compared to any other edition since WeddingsAtWork.com (W@W) started publishing the title in 2003. In fact, submissions for additional entries and updates to our online directory (where all the listings in the following pages are based on) were on pending status for four months until we got all the existing entries verified. Our sincerest apologies to those affected by this inconvenience.

Our ever-reliable W@Wie-volunteers started verifying the contact information of all the listed suppliers since May. They emailed, called and text (or if those means were already exhausted without a reply, faxed!) each supplier listed to make sure we come up with an up-to-date listing as always. Special thanks to Anne, Chie, Dette (whose fiancé, John, took on the task when she got busy with work), Ella, Em, Ihrine, Jellybean, Jen, Maui, Ohsie, Raquel & Tin for the invaluable help. Special mention goes to Mari Pabro-Salvilla for overseeing the collation of all the lists. Half the job was done when she took that task off our shoulders.

Our ad campaign started at around the same time. As a result, our latest edition has gotten thicker yet again, not just because of the additional entries, but also due to the overwhelming support of our advertisers. With their sheer number, we’ve felt it is just right to create an Advertiser’s Index towards the end of the book for a quick reference to who they are and what they offer.

From the time we started until the time the book came out, you’d think we had all the time in the world. We thought so too. The pacing was just perfect. We we’re relaxed the whole time. We were even lenient for request to extend ad deadlines. Nothing was rushed… until we were closing in the date we had to go to the press! Crunch time again! Guess time is no cure for crammers.

For this reason, we are both grateful and apologetic to Jaymie, our book designer, for our installment editing and for being fickle about re-categorizing some suppliers at the last minute when layouts were just about done. We even fussed over the unnecessary “,” and “#” signs within the suppliers’ addresses (sorry guys, no prize if you spot more;, they never seem to run out ever time we proofread). We are aware that a person’s patience is never unending but we still manage to be friends with her up until this point. Thanks for not complaining… or for at least for not letting us hear it.

Though we originally intended the BYP for all soon-to-weds out there, we also thank all the suppliers and wedding shops for making BYP their quick reference to contact colleagues in the industry. We’ve seen tattered copies straight out of the handbags of several wedding planners and — ironic as it may sound — we’re truly touched by the abuse our directory has suffered in their hands. For us, seeing those hardly recognizable BYPs have been the biggest compliment. Thanks for making it an indispensable ‘tool’ for the business. With all due respect but now maybe the perfect time to ask us for a copy of the latest edition and finally part with that ‘flakey yellow thingy’. =)
